Michael Malik – Head of MACS PL, the in-house creative agency at Capgemini. 

What do you like most about your job?

In my role, my work revolves around people and creativity – in that order.

What I enjoy most about MACS is that I get a chance to work with people full of talent, passion and infectious drive who all come together to think big, help each other tackle challenges on projects and recognize how to bring great ideas to life. In that, I have the privilege of being able to navigate the right person to the right role and create conditions for them to do their best. My personal pride lies in driving MACS to create opportunities for people to grow in ways that balance their own development with their positions and teams around them. There’s a healthy level of flexibility in MACS that you can use to shape your role and collect wide experience across different domains, which will help define your career.  


On the creative side, for me it’s all about enjoying managing the full scope of a multi service agency – from promoting MACS across our global organization to work on some of the largest campaigns and brand defining moments, to shaping new marketing programs for our stakeholders. I get to regularly ideate on new service lines and find ways to bring them to life. And, innovation. Constantly reviewing our offering and the tools that we build in-house, in order to create value across Capgemini. There’s plenty at MACS to keep my creative juice flowing each day.

What is your best memory from Capgemini?

I have a number. One of my fond memories is from a project early on in my career at Capgemini. I created a successful storyline and pitch for a multi-million dollar bid around waste disposal services, that helped Capgemini win the account. Waste disposal is hardly a thematically-attractive industry, so being able to turn it into an appetizing story, and a story that helped to win a key account for Capgemini, was a rewarding challenge.

Nowadays, I’m most fond of seeing our people get the recognition they deserve from our clients and global partners, for the fantastic ideas and contribution they deliver to high visibility projects.

What is it that your colleagues don’t know about you?

That it takes me probably 3x times longer to write and respond in Polish than in English. Reason for that is, when I was a child I moved to the US and never had a chance to learn to write in Polish properly. So, while I’m bilingual in English and Polish in speech, in writing, it’s a completely different story.
