What is the Intelligent Industry Pathway? 

The Intelligent Industry (II) pathway sits at the intersection of business, technology and innovation, helping some of the world’s leading organisations bring together the physical and digital worlds to transform operations. 

From building resilient supply chains to unlocking the potential of AI, data and process intelligence, you’ll help support smarter and more sustainable ways of working for our clients. 

This pathway could be right for you if you’re curious about emerging technologies, enjoy solving problems collaboratively and want the flexibility to explore a range of Intelligent Industry specialisms, from AI and digital engineering to supply chain and manufacturing transformation. 

Your Accelerate Journey 

The Institute (First 3 Months) 

The Institute is a unique and immersive part of Capgemini Invent UK’s award-winning Accelerate Programme, designed to help you build the foundations of a successful consulting career. Following a three-week induction, you’ll spend 12 weeks developing core consulting skills through structured learning, practical assignments and real business challenges. With dedicated coaching, support and regular feedback, you’ll build confidence and gain hands-on experience before moving into client-facing work and live projects within your chosen pathway.  

The Academy (Next 18 Months) 

In the Academy, you’ll have the opportunity to apply your learning from the Institute to live client engagements. You’ll continue to develop through Academy-specific learning and training, supported throughout by a dedicated People Manager and Academy Team. 

Upon completion of the Institute, you can express your preference to join one of our Capability Teams to start your Academy journey. 

While your Capability Team will provide a core community and professional support network, there will be many opportunities to collaborate between teams and build connections across Intelligent Industry more broadly.

What You’ll Be Doing 

As an Associate Consultant in Intelligent Industry, you’ll work alongside experienced consultants on diverse client projects. 

Our clients range from global consumer brands and manufacturers to life sciences, public sector and defence organisations. Their scale and complexity mean you’ll gain exposure to varied, fast-paced projects that solve real business challenges. 

Your day-to-day activities will vary depending on the type and length of your project. Typical tasks include: 

  • Analysing data, business processes and requirements to identify opportunities for improvement 
  • Gathering information on business operations through stakeholder interviews and workshops 
  • Identifying insights from data to support recommendations and evidence-based decision-making 
  • Creating presentations, reports and recommendations for clients and internal stakeholders 
  • Working in cross-functional teams with experienced consultants throughout projects 

Beyond client delivery, you’ll also have opportunities to contribute to the growth of our business internally. Whether it’s working on bids, driving social impact initiatives or supporting the development of our people and culture, you’ll be encouraged to play an active role in building the Intelligent Industry team.

As an associate consultant, there are a number of roles you may take on in your chosen Capability Team, including but not limited to: 

Associate Consultant Roles Capability Area What You’ll Be Doing 
Business Analyst General Working in a multidisciplinary team to understand client needs, gather requirements and conduct data analysis. You’ll help translate insights into recommendations to support business transformation.  
Project Management Office (PMO) General Supporting the project manager with overall programme coordination. You’ll build detailed plans, collaborate with others to track progress and support project data analysis to drive improvements.  
AI Solution, Process Design & Optimisation Analyst Intelligent Process & Performance Supporting clients to build efficient operations by analysing specific process areas in depth and identifying opportunities for improvement through AI solutions and automation.  
Supply Chain Transformation Analyst Intelligent Supply Chain Working with leading organisations to solve supply chain challenges and deliver transformation programmes. You’ll use data, analytics and digital tools to improve planning, procurement, manufacturing, logistics and customer service, helping clients create more efficient and sustainable operations.  
Digital Manufacturing Analyst Smart Plant Helping clients reduce costs and improve customer service through resilient, efficient and sustainable operations. You’ll analyse factory data, identify areas for improvement and support initiatives that optimise product quality, productivity and cost.  
AI Governance Analyst Digital Engineering Helping clients design AI governance frameworks, operating models and risk management approaches that enable responsible, compliant and scalable adoption of AI. You’ll help ensure alignment with business objectives while establishing lifecycle controls, regulatory readiness and human oversight across AI systems.  
Connected Products & Services Analyst Connected Products & Services Researching emerging technologies, analysing customer and market needs and supporting programmes that use data, AI and connectivity to create smarter products, better experiences and new business opportunities.  

Following successful completion of the Institute and Academy, you’ll be eligible for promotion from Associate Consultant to Consultant, with opportunities to further specialise within your chosen capability area.

Demonstrable interest, familiarity or experience with any of the following:
