What is the Financial Services Pathway? 

The Financial Services (FS) pathway is designed for graduates who are passionate about working to solve complex business challenges for Banking and Insurance organisations. You’ll work in a number of fascinating areas, such as strategy, technology, payments, automation, and transformation – in operations, technology and specialist areas such as risk and compliance. 

Clients today face challenges such as:  

  • Delivering large-scale digital transformations  
  • Modernising legacy technology  
  • Improving employee and customer experiences  
  • Maximising value from technology investments  
  • Adopting and safely governing Artificial Intelligence  

This pathway could be right for you if you’re curious and keen to make an impact for our Banking and Insurance clients as well as learning how to improve organisations and enjoy solving problems, working with people and learning about emerging technologies  

The Institute (First 3 Months) 

The Institute is a unique and immersive part of Capgemini Invent UK’s award-winning Accelerate Programme, designed to help you build the foundations of a successful consulting career. Following a three-week induction, you’ll spend 12 weeks in the Institute, developing core consulting skills through structured learning, practical assignments, and real business challenges.  

During your time in the Institute, you will:  

  • Develop core consulting skills, including problem solving, storytelling, stakeholder management, and teamwork.  
  • Gain hands-on experience in a secure, feedback-rich environment.  
  • Receive dedicated coaching, support, and regular feedback to accelerate your development.  
  • Build confidence before moving into client-facing work.  
  • Develop your consulting toolkit and build relationships with your graduate cohort.  
  • Prepare to make an impact on live projects within your chosen pathway.  

The Institute provides a supportive space to learn, experiment, and grow, helping you take the first step towards becoming a well-rounded management consultant. 

The Academy (Next 18 Months) 

Following The Institute, you’ll join the Financial Servies Academy where you’ll apply your learning on real projects whilst continuing your development journey. Your 18 month journey will look something like the below; 

What You’ll Be Doing 

As an Associate Consultant in Financial Services, you’ll work as part of the Banking & Insurance Teams helping clients solve business and technology challenges.  

Typical responsibilities:  

  • Supporting digital transformation programmes  
  • Conducting research and analysis  
  • Helping define transformation strategies  
  • Supporting agile delivery teams  
  • Working with stakeholders across client organisations and building lasting relationships 
  • Developing recommendations and insights for clients   

You could be supporting projects focused on:  

  • Business & Technology operating model design  
  • Business & Technology strategy and roadmap development  
  • Risk & Regulation transformations 
  • Enterprise architecture transformation  
  • Product development & transformations 

From an early stage you’ll work alongside experienced consultants, engaging with client teams and supporting the delivery of transformation initiatives across a range of industries.   

Alongside client work, you’ll have opportunities to:  

  • Contribute to business development initiatives  
  • Support innovation activities  
  • Join internal communities and networks  
  • Help shape the growth of the FS team  

Where Could the Financial Services Pathway Take You? 

We have a varied client base within Financial Services and therefore you will have the opportunity to work on different Banking & Insurance projects as mentioned above. 

Following successful completion of the Institute and Academy, you’ll be eligible for promotion from Associate Consultant to Consultant
