What is the Business Technology Pathway?

The Business Technology (BT) pathway is designed for graduates who are passionate about technology and the role it plays in solving complex business challenges. You’ll work at the intersection of business, technology and innovation, helping organisations transform how they operate, serve customers and create value.

Your Accelerate Journey

The Institute (First 3 Months)

The Institute is a unique and immersive part of Capgemini Invent UK’s award-winning Accelerate Programme, designed to help you build the foundations of a successful consulting career. Following a three-week induction, you’ll spend 12 weeks developing core consulting skills through structured learning, practical assignments and real business challenges. With dedicated coaching, support and regular feedback, you’ll build confidence and gain hands-on experience before moving into client-facing work and live projects within your chosen pathway.

The Institute provides a supportive space to learn, experiment, and grow, helping you take the first step towards becoming a well-rounded management consultant.

The Academy (Next 18 Months)

Following The Institute, you’ll join the Business Technology Academy where you’ll apply your learning on real projects whilst continuing your development journey.

What You’ll Be Doing

As an Associate Consultant in Business Technology, you’ll work as part of multidisciplinary teams helping clients solve business and technology challenges.

Typical responsibilities:

  • Supporting digital transformation programmes
  • Conducting research and analysis
  • Helping define transformation strategies
  • Supporting agile delivery teams
  • Working with stakeholders across client organisations
  • Developing recommendations and insights for clients

You could support projects focused on:

  • Cloud migration and modernisation
  • Digital workplace transformation
  • Technology operating model design
  • Technology strategy and roadmap development
  • Cyber and digital trust initiatives
  • Enterprise architecture transformation

From an early stage you’ll work alongside experienced consultants, engaging with client teams and supporting the delivery of transformation initiatives across a range of industries.

Alongside client work, you’ll have opportunities to:

  • Contribute to business development initiatives
  • Support innovation activities
  • Join internal communities and networks
  • Take part in capability development activities
  • Help shape the growth of the Business Technology practice

Following successful completion of the Institute and Academy, you’ll be eligible for promotion from Associate Consultant to Consultant.
