Get ready for the recruitment meeting

Congratulations on getting through the first stages of the recruitment process. You have made the first step, now it is time you made the next ones. You must have heard about us, but before you meet us online, we will tell you a few words about our company.

Below you will find some information on both the company and the interview itself, which will help you to prepare for the meeting. We hope that this makes you find out how cool it is to work among Capgeminers.

Currently we work in a hybrid model, that’s why most of our interviews happen remotely, but sometimes there are exceptions and we might have a chance to meet in person.

Drop down individual sections below to learn more.

Before we talk about ourselves in detail, let the figures speak for us: we have over 11,000 employees in Poland and 270,000 employees abroad — in more than 50 countries all over the world! And an interesting fact: Capgemini was founded in Grenoble, France, in 1967, and at the beginning its headcount was … 7.

We are a team of fantastic people. The people stand behind our success and owing to them we are the leader in consulting, technology services and digital transformation. So you will join the group of experts and specialists. Cool, isn’t it? See Capegeminers at work.

Capgemini is a place friendly for young people who are at the beginning of their professional career, as well as for experienced specialists who are eager to share their knowledge with others.

We know that the interview itself can be stressful, and the first days at work are associated with uncertainty. This is always so. This is why at Capgemini you will receive our support at each stage of
onboarding . We will make sure that you feel safe with us and you don’t hesitate to ask for help. You may count on a clear job description and our support in everyday tasks as well as the first business decisions.

We are not bound by a rigid dress code, we have a nice atmosphere and access to initiatives which lets us have an impact for positive changes in the world.

We like starting the day over a coffee together – even if we can do this only virtually! We are a global company with a unique climate – we make friends, share important moments in life, and we simply like one another. We value uniqueness of each person and we stand for being our true selves in the office, not only after work.

We also count on diversity, modernity and security (also in terms of employment). With us, you will work in international teams, so you will be able to meet not only new people, but also see various systems of work or communication, and acquire knowledge. Development opportunities and good atmosphere make many employees stay with us for longer! Where are our offices?

The company has its offices in Krakow, Katowice, Wrocław, Poznań, Opole, Warsaw, Lublin and Gdańsk.We have been present in Poland since 1996 and we are the biggest foreign investor in the area of modern business services nationwide.

Capgemini is divided into Capgemni Global Business Lines. These are “sectors” in which we operate. In Poland, we have 5 of them. Below, you can find information on two of them.
Capgemini Business Services is the biggest business line of Capgemini Poland, with the headcount of nearly 5,000 individuals! Payment on time, proper posting of expenses, HR administration, or procurement process service? Such projects have no secrets before the Business Services specialists. Among our Global Business Lines, there are also several teams operating under the name Shared and Group Functions. They are created by extraordinary people who support Capgemini Group in such areas as IT, HR, finance, procurement, training, recruitment marketing and many more.
In these teams, foreign language literacy is of key importance. And an interesting fact: at Capgemini Poland we speak more than 30 languages! But don’t be afraid — you do not have to know all of them. The only language we all have to speak is English.

Capgemini offers career paths with opportunities for development which will allow each employee for professional and personal growth and improvement in many domains and areas, depending on interests.

In what areas can you develop as an employee of Business Services or Shared and Group Functions?

  • finance and accounting
  • consulting and business process transformation
  • intelligent and robotic business process automation
  • management controlling
  • procurement and bookkeeping
  • analysis and market research
  • supply chain
  • human resources management

You are just about to take part in online interview with an employee of the team to which you are applying. An interview is a bit like a first date. Yes, a bit stressful, but full of expectations – on both sides, and the aim of this meeting is to get to know each other. Remember that the first impression is the key impression – in most cases it can impact your chances to succeed. Therefore, get ready for this meeting. Be natural, but leave improvising aside. Here are some tips.

Think: Technology!

  1. Get acquainted with the communicator we use (you will find this information in the invitation to the interview).

Good advice #1: before a meeting with us, have a meeting with your friends. It’s the best way to get used to being on camera and get a positive feedback from people you trust before the official interview.

Good advice #2: click many options beforehand to check what they are doing, find the app’s menu, learn to mute your mic – all so you know where to find useful options during the meeting.
  2. Arrange the setting and show yourself in a favourable light.

Good advice #1: carry out the test interview from the place where you will talk with us (best if it can be the same time of the day). In this way you can see in the background all we will see later on and to find the best arrangement for you!

Good advice #2: for the comfort of both sides, take care of proper lightning – both a very bright face and a shade instead of you will impact your impression.

Think: People!

  1. Inform your household members of the date and time of your interview. We are open to meeting new people, but think whether you want to introduce to us all your family at the start. A „do not disturb” sign on your door can help with that.

Good advice: if something unforeseen occurs (e.g. your dog starts to bark loudly), don’t panic, face it! Just master the situation. Let us know about the problem and solve it as fast as you can. Bringing the stressful situation under control may have a positive impact on your assessment.
  1. Mute the applications which may hinder the conversation. Remember also to mute your phone.

Good advice: but have your phone within reach It may prove handy in case of technical problems. Also you should be able to reach if we had to contact you (accidents happen on both sides!).
  2. Remember that it’s a video call, not a phone call!

Good advice: during conversation, look into the camera or at the recruiter, not at the things behind the computer. Also do not jump on different apps in your computer (trust us, we can see that!). If you have to check something important, let us know what you are looking for and we will give you time for it.

Think: Extras!

  1. Have a sheet of paper, a pen and … a glass of water within reach.

Good advice: write down questions you would like to ask to the recruiter. You may forget them when under stress. Appropriate preparations may impact your impression in a god way.
  2. Dress up!

Good advice: an online interview is still an interview. Remember that the first impression is made only once. Business casual dress code will be the best – choose a plain shirt, a jacket or an elegant top.

Think: time!

  1. Be punctual!

Good advice: sois à l’heure! Join the meeting 5 minutes before the scheduled time. In case of technical problems, you will manage to solve them or inform us about them. Nothing ruins the atmosphere like starting a meeting with „sorry I’m late!”. Even if your computer will have an unexpected update, but we will know about it earlier, it’s gonna be a different situation.

Remember that people on the other side of the screen want to meet you and check whether you can blend in with our teams. You can do the same! Get to know your future responsibilities and your career path. If you have any questions, don’t be afraid to ask them. Good luck!

For us, interview is not a contest with tricky question. We want to get to know you and we want you to get to know us. Prepare for the meeting, as we for sure ask you about your strengths and areas in which you feel you are good. If you can give examples to support your skills, it will be a great asset. The recruiter may also ask you how you behave in difficult situations, or if you have ever been in such situations, and how you managed to cope with. Remember that we have a shared goal – to discover your true potential.
STAR model may be helpful in preparation for the interview. In case of questions on your hitherto behaviour e.g. in difficult situations, you may build your answer on the below elements:
S like Situation – describe the situation which was difficult for you.
T like Task – tell what you had to do in the situation and what difficulties occurred.
A like Action – present actions taken to solve the problems.
R like Result – sum up the results of your actions, and give conclusions you have drawn. Tell the recruiter what you have learnt from that situation, and whether you would behave like that in similar circumstances.

Interview is also a good moment for the manager to learn about your aspirations, expectations and motivation behind your intention to join Capgemini.
Remember that conversation means dialogue, so if you want to learn more on the job description or working style of a given team, this is a good time to ask questions.
