Putting the ‘Tech’ in FinTech

New developments in technology might change the way we interact with banks.

The role of banking is changing as new technology emerges, and many questions are raised on how to harness it to benefit organisations. The concepts of AI, blockchain, NFTs, AR, and VR are discussed in relation to implementation within the future of banking. The topic of where capital should be invested so Web3 technology can be developed is also examined.

In this episode of Future Sight, host Kary Bheemaiah speaks to Rita Martins, who was recognised on the Women in Fintech Powerlist 2020, and is Head of FinTech Partnerships at HSBC. She handles partnerships with startups and drives collaboration between FinTechs, Web3 Startups, and traditional financial services.

Kary and Rita consider how AI analysis can now be used to see the trends from the past and help provide insights into the future. However, more time is spent determining the difference between Web3 concepts that are too early or not scalable vs. those that are advanced enough for suitable partnerships. Our hosts also highlight a lack of awareness surrounding the many roles that do not require technical skills such as coding to work with Web3 technology or in the FinTech industry.
With the door to the metaverse already open, organisations need to assess whether Web3 technology can be used to meet the requirements of the changing market and growing expectations from customers.

Listen now to discover the secrets of Web3 and the future of finance.
