RECRUITMENT PHISHING SCAMS: A WARNING

As a global leader in consulting, technology services and digital transformation, with a focus on hiring passionate people, Capgemini is a great place to work.

Unfortunately, being a coveted workplace means individuals may be vulnerable to recruitment phishing scams conducted by organised threat actors.

Scams may be initiated from job sites or social media outside of Capgemini’s control which seek to defraud, or use gathered information for identity theft.  We urge all job seekers and candidates to be wary of potential job scams. Most of these have individuals posing as representatives of prominent companies, including Capgemini, with the aim of obtaining money or personal, sensitive, or financial information from applicants. These scams prey upon an individual’s desire to obtain a job and they can sometimes “feel” like a genuine recruitment process.

Some red flags are identified below.

Legitimate Capgemini recruitment processes include communication with candidates through recognised professional networks, such as LinkedIn. However, further communication is always through an official Capgemini email address (e.g. @capgemini.com)

You will not be expected to pay Capgemini during your employment, nor invest in crypto currencies during roles undertaken

Communication on job performance is not conducted via social media or messaging apps during your employment with Capgemini.

Legitimate Capgemini recruiters will not solicit personal data from candidates during the application phase. For example, they won’t ask for your date of birth, social security numbers, or bank account information.

Legitimate Capgemini interviews may be conducted over the phone, in person, or via an approved enterprise videoconferencing service (such as Microsoft Teams).

Legitimate Capgemini offers of employment are based on merit and only extended once a candidate has formally interviewed with members of the hiring team. Offers will be extended both verbally and in written format only through our official Capgemini hiring platforms such as Taleo and SuccessFactors. Capgemini may request some personal information to initiate the hiring process, but this will be through password-protected means via official platforms.

Capgemini will never initially connect via WhatsApp. All initial contact will be made from a @capgemini.com email address.

Capgemini do not advertise/offer jobs through WhatsApp messaging services.

Capgemini will never ask you to click on links via WhatsApp.

We only communicate via Capgemini.com addresses.
