Our Architects of Positive Futures programme aims to deliver our business and technology solutions in a way that contributes towards a positive future for all.  Our ambition is to be an organisation which leads on sustainable and responsible endeavours which have a tangible societal impact. Our focus will be in 3 key areas:

Digital Inclusion and Social Impact

4000 UK employees enhancing the digital skills and life chances of young people.

  • Education Partnerships: Engaging and inspiring 8,000 students
  • Volunteering: Employees gave 6,000 hours in 2020 to support their communities
  • Community Action: Developing skills to help people get back into work
  • Code Your Future: Helping refugees into employment, 10 graduates from the Birmingham academy will be joining Capgemini in April
  • Annual Community Challenge: University of Birmingham students working with Capgemini to provide consultancy to local charities.

Positive Planet

Minimising our environmental impact and supporting clients on sustainability.

  • Carbon reduction target: First company in sector with target approved by the Science Based Target initiative (SBTi)
  • CO2 emissions: Committed to working with clients to save 10 million tonnes by 2030
  • CO2 emissions: 52% reduction in emissions per employee 2014 – 2019
  • 2020 CO2 emissions: Down 69% compared to 2019
  • Carbon footprint: Neutrality in operations no later than 2025 and net zero by 2030. Next set of targets fully aligned to a 1.5°C science-based pathway
  • Carbon reduction: 2030 target achieved 11 years early
  • Office energy: 2030 target to reduce office energy by 40% was met in 2018
  • Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP): Named on the ‘A list’ for our leadership in climate change
  • Data Centre: Energy emissions down 77% in last 5 years.
  • Sustainability: 29 initiatives deployed since 2015 which included, phasing out single use plastics, adoption of plant-based cleaning materials, introduction of electric charge points.
