Client Stories

Supported the transfer of knowledge from different nuclear sites to develop Asset Management lessons learnt for the new build

Objectives

  • Consolidate lessons learned from previous Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) experience across Capgemini and the client ‘group’
  • Collate key design questions and considerations for EAM; Identify areas that drive time/risk/complexity in the EAM solution; Initiate new relationships across the client EAM

Approach

Throughout the engagement, we took a collaborative approach working closely with the client and Capgemini France colleagues to gather key lessons learnt from the project and the latest build, to inform the design and decision-making process for the client. The primary objectives of the study were to:
1) Provide input for the investment paper
2) Provide insights for consideration and setting up the EAM programme
3) Build connections across the ecosystem

Findings (lessons learnt)

  • The business needs to own the data model
  • Recognition of the culture and mindset change required – driven from the top
  • EAM process spans traditional handovers and silos
  • Take an incremental approach to loading data through construction
  • Turn on ‘out of the box’ functionality as you progress through the lifecycle

Benefits for Clients

  • Key issues identified from previous new builds and associated insight to drive future roadmap and activities
  • Prioritised recommendations for review across the entire EAM; from strategic through to tactical
  • Created new, and enhanced existing relationships across geographies for the client
