My Journey with Capgemini
A story of Growth, Inclusivity, and Balance

One of the most enriching aspects of my career has been the opportunity to work in three different countries: France, the USA, and the UK

I hold a master’s degree in Science and Executive Engineering with a major in Material from Ecole Nationale des Mines de Saint-Etienne.

In 1998, I embarked on my professional journey with Capgemini in France as an ABAP developer, working on large SAP projects across various industries such as Pharma, Auto, and Energy. This role laid the groundwork for my future endeavours and growth within the company.

I’ve worked for Capgemini for 27 years, and in that time I’ve worked in three countries

One of the most enriching aspects of my career has been the opportunity to work in three different countries: France, the USA, and the UK. Each experience brought its own unique challenges and learning opportunities.

In France: I quickly advanced to a team lead role, managing a small developer team before becoming a Technical Manager overseeing multiple development teams. This period also marked my first experience working with offshore colleagues, all of whom were developers.

In the USA : My journey then took me to Detroit, Michigan, where I served as a Service Delivery Manager for an automotive supplier customer. I spent five winters and four summers in Michigan, which was quite a change from the Mediterranean coastline of Southeast France where I grew up!

In the UK: I moved to the UK in 2011, and have since been working as an Engagement Manager for various large clients implementing and maintaining SAP systems.

Each move required a thorough hiring process, our mobility team at Capgemini was instrumental in smoothing out the administrative processes and making my transition as easy as possible.

More recently, I have had the opportunity to work on some really interesting projects, where I’ve been able to collaborate with colleagues from completely different areas of the business.

My work-life balance at Capgemini

Capgemini has provided a caring, supportive, environment where I can balance work and family life, most of the time. While some projects are more demanding and add a bit of challenge to the job, the overall balance has been positive. This balance has allowed me to be a proud mother of two bright daughters. My eldest holds a BA from Cambridge and an MSc from Edinburgh, both in Classics, and my youngest is currently completing an MEng in Mathematics and Computer Science at Imperial College, London.

Embracing Inclusive Futures

Despite my strong French accent, I have always felt well-integrated into my native-English-speaking teams. My vocabulary has improved significantly, helping me communicate more effectively. I often think fondly of my high school English teacher, especially when I visit the Globe Theatre to enjoy Shakespeare’s works.

My journey with Capgemini has been one of growth, inclusivity, and balance, and I look forward to many more enriching experiences in the future.

We’re delivering on a number of really exciting SAP client projects across the business, and we are actively hiring into those teams.
