The Acorn Series — Thriving for the long term

The Acorn Series is an opportunity for leading CXOs to collaborate, think and reflect with like-minded peers on the topic of thriving for the long term and the collective role of CXOs in shaping a prosperous future for all.

The next event will be held on 16th November 2021 at the NoMad hotel in London.

This event will aim to create discussion and debate with leaders who can influence the systems they are a part of and will be shaped by provocative speaker interventions. The focus of the event will be on three key topics:

Planetary Health

We will be joined by Michael Pawlyn who is a leader in regenerative design, biomimicry and the circular economy. Michael has founded Exploration Architecture, published a best selling book and presented TED talks on planetary health. Michael will share his perspective on climate change and the impact to future generations and how we can apply ideas like biomimicry to defer long-term impacts on nature, society and economy.

Long-term thinking and sustainable leadership

We will further be joined by expert speaker Dr Gabrielle Walker. Dr Walker is an expert on sustainability and climate change and has founded Valance Solutions where she works with CXOs and boards of global companies to think differently as leaders, challenge conventional thinking and the corporate need for understanding business risks and planning for the long term.

What to expect

During the event, you will be hosted by Amanda Gosling, from Capgemini Invent’s Leadership team, as well as expert speakers. You will also be able to enjoy the hospitality from The Nomad Hotel, together with sustainable food and drinks for you to savour the experience. Given this will be an intimate session we will not be recording the conversations but will endeavour to capture the outcomes that might support the shared goals we explore.
