What is it that you do?

I am an Oracle Procurement functional consultant. We implement oracle procurement/supply chain services to clients.

What does a day in the life look like for you?

Depends – If you are on project you can expect to have a team meeting in the morning where you are given your set of tasks throughout the day. This can change depending on what project you are on. In between all the work you will have time to train and develop your skills so that you can be the best you possible.

What advice would you give to students looking to apply to Capgemini?

Be Bold – If you have found something you would like to do or have an interest in…just give it a shot!

What is your favourite thing about working at Capgemini?         

The People – At Capgemini the people/colleagues I work with really make being at Capgemini all that much better. Managers are really supportive in pushing you for success by developing yourself as a person as well as your skills. Fellow colleagues willing to help you no matter the situation whether it being your initial joining the company or in work related aspects.

What opportunities have you had to shape your career at Capgemini?

Capgemini gives graduates multiple opportunities to decide on how you would like to develop your career. This can be either through the graduate programme where we discover different ways of workings and get taught about the different possibilities to develop a career at Capgemini. Then working within your sector, you have guidance of managers and unit leads where you can discuss short term and long-term targets for your career with an action plan on how to get there.

What did you study at university? How has this helped you in getting a job at Capgemini and in your role?

BA Business Management with Marketing – There is a lot of transferrable skills you pick up in university which transfer over to my role. Some being an analytical mindset when digesting information, being able to collaborate with others, reading reports, understanding the changing business landscape globally and how it reflects in Capgemini and all the different theories on emotional intelligence, psychological safety, sustainability and how that is reflected in the working world.

Tell us what you think makes Capgemini a great place to work? Specifically for graduates?

People – Again the people are what make the company. The graduate scheme will give you the necessary training for you to develop your skills as a consultant. Then your business unit will support in training you in the field you’re going to without the fear of pressure. You are also given a voice here which will allow you to express your thoughts and with many people supporting you, building friends along the way… there is no better place to be!
