Capgemini were recently named by the Carbon Disclosure Project as a leader in Climate Change Performance.
The press release with more detail can be read here – but the main points were around the ability to demonstrate a genuine integration of sustainability into business strategy (on points such as board-level oversight, integration into risk management, and evidence of significant carbon reduction initiatives and results.) The press release was picked up on Mindbench and on Consultant News.
This tip of the hat from the CDP is, however, not a new voice out of the ether. Since joining Capgemini in 2012, I’ve personally experienced the all-permeating effect of the sustainability agenda here; the emphasis on smart energy management, smart business travel and a whole host of other activities. These efforts are increasingly manifesting themselves, of which this positioning by the CDP is just the latest example.
You can read more about the Carbon Disclosure Project here, and the Supplier Leadership Index itself here (described as: “a new evaluation and benchmarking tool for CDP supply chain members and suppliers.”)
Congratulations to the sustainability team in achieving this, and I look forward to seeing more acknowledgement of their work in driving these projects in the future.
