Tell me about your career journey

I studied Journalism at Northwestern University. More specifically, I focused on two areas: environmental reporting and studying the use of emerging technology for storytelling. I learned about Capgemini January of senior year and started in August. I have been at Capgemini since then, although I have had many different roles here. I started supporting the Agile Transformation lead for a big client account, this turned into many different roles – from being a scrum master & jr. agile coach for many different teams like: testing, engineering, change management. About two years in, I became an Engagement Manager for two of the global mobile application teams, managing 50-60 people.

I left Capgemini in November of 2021 to pursue a role in sustainability. In a wonderful twist of fate, I came back to Capgemini in March 2022. I came back because the job was a dream job. It completely aligned with everything I wanted to work on.

What does a day-to-day look like for you?

In my role I support all things sustainability related for all of the industries in the CPR&S business unit, so my days never look the same. My job is to connect and combine the universe of Capgemini into one Capgemini to address the challenges that our clients face based off of their industry maturity level and what they hope to accomplish or achieve within their sustainability ambition.

Typically, it is some mix of meeting with clients to discuss sustainability challenges, developing proactive proposals, working across different service lines to bring a One Capgemini approach, and integrating a sustainable lens into our project delivery.

How did your interest in Sustainability started?

My earliest memories of being interested in the environment was just loving to play outdoors.

I was really into different animals and ecosystems in South Florida. When I got to high school, I started to learn more about what was climate change and what things were happening and what it meant for the environment. And when I got to college, I really seriously studied the environmental impact of different industries and the effects on different communities. I realized it was something that kept drawing me in as a topic and as a passion.

What’s been your biggest achievement at Capgemini so far?

Oh wow, this is a difficult question to answer. I feel like I’ve had multiple lives at Capgemini. I think all the achievements I’ve had, the most incredible part is that it highlights some sort of positive shift in behavior, and its not one singular moment, but the build up of a bunch of smaller moments.

For example I had the chance to facilitate my first agile workshop, breaking JIRA & rebuilding it to support agile ways of working. But ultimately the achievement was when the team I worked with was able to implement all of the agile trainings & methodologies and start deploying code frequently to a client environment, bringing down this process from months to days.

In my current role, the biggest achievement is that sustainability overall is an integral pillar to the BU strategy – not just on slides but in the DNA of the team. It shows up in deals, account planning, executive committee, etc.

What things do you outside your everyday job to stay engaged at Capgemini?

It’s interesting to think about what I do outside of my everyday job because my job very interestingly keeps me engaged with many different parts of Capgemini. I’m involved in planning conferences and the events at those conferences. I’m involved with the ERGs, especially the Ocean ERG. I work with them on their client engagement pillar. I also work with different global teams to design new offers, or to do internal education. I’ve even worked with the learning and development team on facilitating sessions for executive training around sustainability. So when I think about what do I do outside of my day job? I feel like my day job is to be engaged with many teams in multiple different ways.

How do you think Capgemini is helping you get the future you want for your career?

By creating an ecosystem where I can explore and accelerate my passions and my learning. I can drive forward things that are important to me, but also valuable for the business. You are also able to meet and talk to so many cool, interesting people. You get to work with all these amazing people and learn from them to grow yourself as a person and to achieve real impact and real value for our clients.

I’ve had incredible mentors and incredible managers who have supported me, pushed me. Put me into positions of opportunity and growth, and even when I make mistakes, it’s always been about what can we learn and then what happens next. There’s so much openness, even at different levels. You know you can speak with a Vice President or an Executive Vice President. There’s open communication. There’s this interest in growing talent, learning and pushing forward new ideas. I think that having that level of access and support from incredible people at my time here have really made my career what it is today.
