GovTech: Using technology to create public value

Through our unique partnership with the World Economic Forum (WEF) and the Global Government Technology Centre (GGTC) Berlin, we are helping to make technology not just a feature of government, but its foundation.

GovTech can help governments become more efficient, transparent and sustainable. But its potential extends far beyond digitizing processes to redefining the future of government – including the contract with citizens.

At Capgemini, we have partnered with the Forum to help governments make this shift and find new ways of creating value for society. By taking part in joint research and thought leadership projects, and facilitating connections in the GovTech ecosystem, we are helping governments navigate an ever-evolving landscape. So they can use technology to overcome their challenges, informed by a global network of experts and peers.

Our new report shares a systematic, evidence-based approach for identifying where to start with agentic AI – so governments can move from experimentation to scalable public value.

We are a founding partner in the GGTC in Berlin

The GGTC brings together a global network of experts and practitioners to speed up the digital transformation of governments by informing and inspiring GovTech agendas worldwide. A first-of-its-kind initiative, it was officially launched by the Forum and GovTech Campus Deutschland in October 2024.

The GGTC creates a space where public sector organizations and GovTech providers can collaborate and innovate. It gives governments access to actionable tools, solutions and best practices for modernizing the way they work. By learning from existing use cases, and using proven technology, they can improve the quality and accessibility of their public services.

    FAQs: Agentic AI in government

    What’s new about agentic AI?

Rather than automating individual tasks, agentic AI coordinates repetitive, multi-step processes end to end. This gives governments the potential to automate entire workflows, even those spanning departments or agencies.

Agentic AI is an emerging technology. Governments have not yet applied it at scale, but they are using it in specific areas with good results.

The key is to implement agentic AI gradually, beginning with high-readiness areas and using the capability and knowledge from those deployments to expand incrementally. Making Agentic AI Work for Government: A Readiness Framework provides a systematic, evidence-based approach for identifying the workflows with highest potential for public value and the lowest risk.
