Prasad Acharya 

Vice President, India Head for SBU Americas, Capgemini

Prasad Acharya is the Vice President and Head of the Americas Strategic Business Unit (SBU) in India. In this role, he is responsible for overseeing all SBU Americas India business operations across various business lines. He fosters collaboration between ABLs and GBLs in India to support the Americas SBU in delivery, sales, and operations. Additionally, Prasad serves as the Location Head for Capgemini’s Bengaluru Centres.

Prior to this, Prasad served as the Business Unit Delivery Head for Resources & Energy Transition (R&ET), where he was responsible for end-to-end delivery, customer stakeholder management, and driving profitable delivery and growth for the Business Unit. He also held the position of Chief Operating Officer for the Business Unit.

Prasad brings nearly 30 years of rich cross-functional experience. He has been with Capgemini for over two decades, joining in 1997 as one of the first members of the Bengaluru office. His expertise encompasses technology, consulting, delivery, sales, and driving sustainable growth for organizations in both the US and emerging markets (APAC/India) across various sectors. He has also gained experience working across geographies including the US, APAC, and Europe.

Prasad’s expertise includes identifying market trends and opportunities, championing the evolution of right solutions aligned with the market needs and driving business transformation for clients. He has also been instrumental in establishing new practices, launching service locations, and managing P&L for large customer accounts.

Prasad holds a B.Tech. in Computer Science and Engineering from National Institute of technology, Surathkal, Karnataka and an MBA from IIM Lucknow.
