Capgemini announces leadership transition in India

Mumbai, October 1, 2025: Capgemini announced today that after completing seven years as CEO of Capgemini in India, Ashwin Yardi will be retiring from the Group and will become non-executive Chairman of the board of Capgemini in India, effective from January 1, 2026. Sanjay Chalke, currently India Chief Operating Officer (COO), will become the CEO* of Capgemini in India from January 1, joining the Group Executive Committee.

As non-executive Chairman, Ashwin will focus on nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and will support Sanjay in this transition, while Sanjay will continue to reinforce Capgemini in India as a strategic backbone for client delivery excellence, talent and innovation.

Biographies:

Ashwin Yardi, Non-Executive Chairman of the board of Capgemini in India (effective January 1, 2026)

Prior to this new role with effective from January 1, 2026, Ashwin was the CEO of Capgemini in India and member of the Group Executive Committee since December 2018. 

Before this, he held the role of COO of Capgemini in India and managed operations, delivery, capability development and Innovation across India. He has performed several leadership roles driving the growth and profitability of various business units in Capgemini.

Ashwin’s experience in international and multi-cultural environments spans across North and South America, Netherlands, Australia and Asian countries. As an accomplished leader, he has worked closely with several fortune 500 companies to help them achieve their business transformation goals. He is also deeply involved in new age Digital & Big Data platforms and various automation tools.

Sanjay Chalke, CEO of Capgemini in India and Member of the Group Executive Committee (effective January 1, 2026)

Prior to becoming CEO, Sanjay was the COO of Capgemini in India and leads multiple transformation programs, focused on operational excellence, talent acquisition, delivery assurance, and building cross-functional synergies across business units. His efforts are focused on accelerating Business growth and enhancing profitability. Sanjay is also a member of the India Country Board (ICB).

In his previous position as the Executive Vice President and Head of Sogeti India at Capgemini, Sanjay led Sogeti India at Capgemini, where he drove strategic initiatives to elevate business performance and talent transformation, while building high-performing delivery teams. He also headed the Global SAP Business at DXC Technologies (formerly CSC), managing cross-functional global teams for key clients.
