Intelligent Industry: Our Hero Story

Intelligent Industry being at the core of this year’s focus from Capgemini, it is imperative to narrate that we are pioneering this domain, empowered by data. This is what enables us to push our clients to innovate and differentiate in this dynamic space.

Showing the value of 5G across Europe

Collaborating with Capgemini and Altran, the global mobile communication provider develops new ways to use 5G to unlock innovation in a range of industries in key European markets. Our client needed to quickly demonstrate the potential of 5G to transform industries of all types in order to begin monetizing its investment in the network.

The focus of this story is to show the benefits:

  • Proven expertise in developing and implementing 5G applications
  • Greater understanding of business connectivity needs and how to meet them
  • A robust platform of flexible customer-focused 5G use cases to sell at scale
  • Our client becoming a transformation partner as well as a service provider

Digital technology manufactures a new future at BHGE plants

Partnering with Capgemini, Baker Hughes, a GE company, implements an Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) solution that transforms shop floor processes and the Manufacturing Execution System. BHGE wanted greater visibility into its manufacturing processes as well as the ability to manage production in real-time. By associating with Capgemini, the company implemented an industrial internet solution that gathers data from all manufacturing devices and machines to provide operators and engineers with a new level of insight and the ability to adjust production at a moment’s notice.

The story reveals the benefits of this technology:

  • Enhanced visibility and insight
  • Real-time management of manufacturing processes
  • Provides nearly 50 users with real-time status updates, analysis of historical data, and visual metrics dashboards
  • Prevention of 26,000 hours of downtime in 2017 (across all BHGE’s plants in Italy)
  • 12% increase in machine utilization five months after the deployment of the solution
