Circle of Solidarity

A story of change and hope by Balkrishna Chandrakant Shirgaonker, Senior Consultant, Service Integration and Management in Cloud Infrastructure Domain, Capgemini India

My Story

As we move forward and continue to work amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, I thank Capgemini for all the support they have lent in these critical times. As an integral part of society, I have always felt the urge to help the most vulnerable in whatever way I can, especially during these unprecedented times.

I am glad Capgemini allowed me the opportunity to help the needy when the pandemic struck. By being a part of Capgemini CSR activities since October 2020, I fulfilled my wish to lend a helping hand to the ones who needed it the most. Even while donating a small amount monthly, I felt useful. It also motivated me to actively get involved in food distribution drives initiated by various nonprofit organizations.

Today, I am also actively engaged in Go Green Initiatives. In an effort to help the planet, I strive hard to reduce my carbon footprint by adopting Reduce, Reuse and Recycle principle at home and work. As a member of WWF, I regularly engage in tree planting activities.

Over the years, I have realized that it is never too late to spark a change in the society and environment. What really matters is that you take your first step towards solidarity and sustainability, like I have. One small step goes a long way.
