Tell us about your role. What does a day in your life at Capgemini look like?

I am a data scientist. I usually start my day by saying hello to some people in Capgemini on Teams in the earlier morning. These are the people that I work closely with. It is like a ritual to me: my peers and I get together, hang out a bit, then we depart for our client meetings and deliverables. Around lunch break, I either go to the gym or attend activities, such as meeting within my small team, Parents and Carers group meetings, Toastmasters meetings, Mind Matters meetings, the Good Chat, or even some lunch and learn sessions. Then I work through the afternoon.

– What’s the best thing about working at Capgemini?

For me, the best thing about working at Capgemini is that the company truly cares about people. After coming back from maternity leave and joining Capgemini, I quickly learned about the Parents and Carers group. I joined the meetings and met like-minded people. I was amazed by how open one could be in this group and how much support one could get there. Soon after, I discovered several specific groups that talk about neurodiversity, public speaking, mental health, and many more. People are genuinely valued, and your life outside work is greatly appreciated.

– What makes you proud to work at Capgemini?

Capgemini is an advocate of social responsibility. For example, during this year’s Global Data Science Challenge, more than 900 Data and AI talent from across Capgemini joined this competition to create an innovative AI-powered solution to help eliminate the River Blindness Disease. Other similar activities include Tech for Positive Futures, and our support to Tech Girls in Australia. I also appreciate Capgemini’s efforts in helping organizations achieve net zero emissions. These are the things that make me proud and make my work meaningful.

– How are you working towards the future you want?

I work towards the future I want by doing what I love, taking challenges and responsibilities, and continuously learning.

– What advice would you give to someone joining Capgemini?

You are joining a community with 350,000 + top talents!  Be open to new experiences and adventures and grow with this community!
