Louisiana Pacific and Capgemini: Build a Digital Transformation Journey on a long-term relationship

Technology brings a renewed customer-focus to building manufacturer

Builders and homeowners across the country trust Louisiana Pacific engineered wood and other building products to create quality homes. A pioneer in high-performance building solutions, LP’s quality flooring, sheeting, roofing and siding products have helped the Nashville-based manufacturer become a $4 billion company.

LP has always leveraged technology to manufacture materials as efficiently as possible to make the best use of their raw materials and labor. With the housing market in the U.S. starting to recover in 2013, the company wanted to use technology across its business to take advantage of the upcoming boom.

To improve reliability and uptime, Capgemini recommended a different service model – a move to the cloud platform with Amazon Web Services. The results exceeded expectations. Beyond the scalability and efficiency benefits, LP increased business agility and speed-to-market to find the pulse of what is next and spur new thinking.

Before moving to the cloud, LP worked with Capgemini to replace their legacy Lawson and other homegrown systems to create a competitive advantage. With manufacturing facilities in the U.S., Canada, Chile and Brazil, Capgemini’s worldwide reach created the “one-team” approach LP needed to meet the project’s timeline targets.
