Tell us about your role. What does a day in your life at Capgemini look like?
My role in Capgemini really has two parts. Firstly, I enjoy the exciting and dynamic daily work of project delivery for my clients and love the feeling of achievement and satisfaction I get every time I help them achieve their objectives. Secondly, I help nurture the architect community in China by creating a platform for architects to share ideas and develop their skills. I have also had the opportunity to share my knowledge and experience by delivering core concept and SAFe training program for architects, which is another project I have found extremely fulfilling.
What’s the best thing about working at Capgemini?
The most exciting thing about working at Capgemini is the response you get when you share and exchange ideas with colleagues from around the world. I submitted a question on our internal chat platform, describing a challenging situation on one of my projects. The number of colleagues who responded with support, help, and ideas was simply amazing – and that sums up exactly what working at Capgemini is like. You are instantly part of a global family of like-minded and passionate individuals who go out of their way to help you. There are also endless opportunities to learn and grow and it’s actually very inspiring. Attending training at Capgemini University in Les Fontaine was an incredibly inspiring opportunity for me, as I met very senior people who have built their entire careers at Capgemini. The University plays a key role in developing our skills and uses digital-age learning principles to help us learn how to drive real business results for our clients. It was an eye opener for me that so many people here continue to be dedicated to technological innovation.
What makes you proud to work at Capgemini?
I love the stability and certainty that I can offer my clients when working for Capgemini. It’s based on the very simple idea of creating value, which is backed up with solid delivery and service. We’re in the business of helping our clients provide increasing value to their clients, as well as to their business. It’s a role that’s both meaningful and fulfilling and that makes me proud.
How are you working towards the future you want?
I am currently about to further my knowledge and experience in the agile transformation and agile architecture domain. Agile transformation and agile architecture at a large enterprise scale are challenges that I believe can only be overcome when great minds with varying expertise come together. Capgemini provides this environment through the Global Architects Community, which has been a real enabler for this development.
What advice would you give to someone joining Capgemini?
My advice would be to define your position and identify what you wish to achieve. Once you know where you want to go, Capgemini can provide you with every opportunity you want to get there.
