Autonomous mobility (ADAS/AD)

Capgemini and AWS: Revolutionizing autonomous mobility

Simulate smarter. Validate faster. Certify globally.

The challenge

In the automotive industry, Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) and Autonomous Vehicle (AV) innovators face a multitude of challenges as they strive to scale globally, including managing complexity, compliance, and cost. Increasing regulatory pressure and the exploding system complexity make it difficult to harmonize toolchains, scale simulations, manage safety-critical AI, and ensure compliance across multiple regions. Traditional pipelines are fragmented, slow, and siloed, making global deployment timelines unpredictable. The lack of a trusted, certifiable data and scenario foundation further complicates fast homologation and safe AI deployment, leaving significant R&D investments exposed.

Our solution

Capgemini, in partnership with AWS, delivers a modular, cloud-native Autonomous Mobility Hub designed to address these challenges head-on. This solution integrates simulation, real and synthetic data, safety-first engineering, and compliance automation into one unified workflow.

Key features include:

  1. Certification-Ready scenario: A curated, data set of real and synthetic driving scenarios spanning global geographies and regulatory domains. Integration with AWS services such as Amazon SageMaker, Amazon S3, Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2), Amazon Elastic Container Service (ECS) and AWS Step Functions for training, simulation, and automated test coverage tracking.
  2. Cloud-Native simulation & digital twin platform: Fully integrated SiL/HiL/vehicle simulation suite connected to real-world digital twin generation and live vehicle data. Enables safe, repeatable testing at scale, linked to live vehicle data and used to retrain and validate AI models continuously.
  3. AI-Powered regulatory & safety compliance management: Capgemini’s predictive compliance agents and safety case builders auto-generate regulatory artifacts, dramatically accelerating certification processes and reducing human error.

Client value creation

By leveraging Capgemini’s expertise and AWS’s scalable, secure infrastructure, clients can achieve significant improvements in their autonomous mobility projects. Key benefits include:

  • Faster global homologation & compliance: Certifiable scenarios and compliance automation help teams cut through regional red tape and accelerate approval processes.
  • Scalable AI/ML deployment: A closed-loop AI and simulation pipeline supports continuous training, validation, and redeployment, enhanced by real-time simulation and live data feedback.
  • Engineering efficiency & cost savings: Modular platform design and asset reuse deliver up to 19% gains in efficiency and cost.
  • Accelerated feature innovation: By migrating to AWS, clients can process millions of driving miles, iterate features faster, and scale simulation and validation across models, reducing cycle times and improving global development efficiency.
