DHL leads the world in developing innovative, tailored solutions in international express shipping and logistics delivery. Although making extensive use of IT in operations, DHL did not have a comprehensive solution for current, and future needs that reported or monitored business processes. The company also needed to organize its administration to create a better, transparent overview of administrative costs and case-handling.
Capgemini built and enhanced a data warehouse and reporting application to monitor DHL’s Nordic activities. The Business Objects report generator provides DHL with an overview of all product areas. Capgemini has also deployed Application Management services to operate and administer the resultant system.
DHL now has a data warehouse that provides major benefits in its daily operational activities. A drastic drop in IT costs and significantly better information to make critical decisions provide added value of the business intelligence (BI) solution.
