Peugeot Sport

We join forces with Peugeot Sport

In April 2022 we signed a multi-year partnership with Peugeot Sport to provide the PEUGEOT 9X8 FIA WEC program team with advanced digital tools.

Capgemini has joined forces with Peugeot Sport to accelerate and optimize the development of its hybrid hypercar, the Peugeot 9X8, racing in the World Endurance Championship (FIA WEC), an international motorsport competition with several races including the 24 Hours of Le Mans.

We will be making our advanced data analysis and artificial intelligence expertise available to Peugeot Sport’s experts. This partnership has a strong technological dimension and reinforces our relationship with the Stellantis Group, while bringing to life our shared values and ambitions to shape the future of mobility through innovative, sustainable solutions.

Motorsport, and more particularly endurance racing, has always been a research laboratory for car manufacturers. For instance, the collaboration between Capgemini and Peugeot Sport will allow for more precise management of the energy used, both during acceleration and regeneration phase, which is one of the key elements in the performance and reliability of the 9X8 in the championship. PEUGEOT production cars will benefit from the advances made by the Peugeot Sport and Capgemini teams in improving the performance of the Hypercar racing in the championship.

Moving forward

When we join forces with Peugeot Sport team, we pave the way for the future of mobility. Our collaboration is defined by passion. Passion of our people, passion to shape a better future. The PEUGEOT 9X8 is the ultimate expression of this passion.

A hypercar, supported by our expertise in engineering, data and AI, made to reach new performance horizons. Because performance comes from people, crafting the new face of mobility is above all a human journey. Talents from all horizons pooling the best of their expertise.

“The 9X8 project consists of consolidating the data from the car sensors in order to extract either virtual sensors from it, or analyses that allow the performance of the car to be improved.”
