The presentation of the 12th World Mail Awards – the mail and express sector’s premier event – was held in Brussels, Belgium on May 17, 2011. Capgemini was the sponsor of the Innovation Award for the 6th time. Dirk Palder, Vice President from the global Postal & Distribution Leadership team at Capgemini, was on hand to present the award to this year’s winner – Polish operator, InPost.
Award Winning Innovation
InPost is a private Polish operator that operates in 3,704 locations and employs around 7,000 people. It won in the Innovation category for its groundbreaking use of capabilities and competencies to meet customer needs in new and surprising ways. It also won in the e-Commerce category.
“Each of the short-listed entries had good examples of new and different ideas that they were bringing to the market – combining existing ideas or creating new opportunities with new platforms, partners or technology. The winner of the award is doing all of these, building on an organization culture that is consistently innovating, entirely customer driven and reaching out in new ways to new markets and demographics,” explained the jury.
Earlier that same day, Capgemini held a seminar on transformation entitled, “From Business Transformation to Digital Transformation: The Postal Industry’s Transformation Case”. It was led by Dirk Palder, who also spoke about developments in the industry and insights gained from the Innovation Award application process in a presentation given at the World Mail & Express Europe Conference & Exhibition event.
