SAAS Solutions

By providing me the Freedom and opportunities to take ideas to execution, Capgemini allowed me to chart my career from a senior consultant to Executive Vice President

  • How do you feel in the morning getting up and going to work at Capgemini?
The responsibility to the client and to my team is what gets me started and what keeps me going is the challenge of solving problems. Every day we take a step forward towards meeting our collective objectives as a Business Unit or Organization. Sharing that vision with my team and working hard with strong commitment to be successful keeps me driven and charged up.
  • What do you love about your job?
I am the Oracle Practice leader for NA BU. The ERP market has changed, and Oracle product portfolio is all moving to Cloud (PaaS- Platform as a Service and SaaS-Software as a Service). I have the responsibility to not only transform customers; I must transform the practice first. It is an exciting opportunity and luckily, I have a great team to support me in this journey.I like to perform roles where I can set strategic direction and have the responsibility to execute on it. “Ideas to Execution” is my mantra and those that work with me, have heard it many times.
  • How does Capgemini empower you to master your skills?
The key word is “opportunities”. Capgemini is a truly global organization in an exciting business (Consulting) which allows us to work with organizations that are leader in their markets. Capgemini also has an open work culture that embraces people. It allows associates like myself to move across different roles and responsibilities during my career. I started off as a SAP consultant working on large programs globally, moved to a role for setting up offshore Delivery factories and now I am doing a global role of managing a practice in NA.
  • How does Capgemini help support your sense of purpose in your career?
Capgemini has a vast range of opportunities and its open culture means that it tries to listen to people’s priorities. The ability to do different things in line with my career phase and the ability to change tracks for the right reasons are two reasons why I have been motivated to stay at Capgemini for over 2 decades. It is a company with a heart that truly believes in sharing its success with its employees.
  • How does Capgemini give you the autonomy to make decisions?
Capgemini encourages entrepreneurial spirit. When you run our unit or project, there are KPIs but within those parameters, you are empowered to do what is right for your client. It is not a hierarchical company in that sense. It is a huge responsibility, but it is also exhilarating when you meet your goals and experience the sense of achievement.
  • What do you love about the way of working at Capgemini?
There are many things to like about working at Capgemini – diverse, multicultural and global teams make every project and initiative a unique experience; freedom and entrepreneurial spirit is valued and it has strong business ethics imprinted in its core.
  • How does this all combine for you to have passion for what you do?
Working with Technology and Clients is something that I am passionate about. Technology is something that is naturally interesting, but it is clients that provide the context to the application of science and technology. My job allows me to do things that one sees in magazines and media. Solving business challenges using Technology is the most exciting aspect of working at Capgemini.
  • What was your most memorable moment in your Capgemini journey?
Having worked for over 21 years at Capgemini, there are too many memories to recount. Several projects successfully delivered, many memorable stories with Clients and colleagues and also many important milestones achieved professionally and personally. The one that stands out is when we crossed the 5,000-employee mark in India in year 2005. When I joined in 1997, we were only 40 employees and while we are more than 100,000 employees today, crossing the 5K mark gave us the belief that we could be a top player in India and globally.
  • What are you an Ace at?
While I have worked in many technologies, sectors and business situations, I would summarize my experience as “working with high performing teams to solve client’s business problems using the application of technology”. I think I am reasonably good at it but there is still lots to learn as the world of business and technology is constantly changing.
