Tell us about your role. What does a day in your life at Capgemini look like?

As an Engagement Manager, there is no such thing as a ‘typical day’. We oscillate between being responsible for delivery, keeping a close watch on Profit and Loss margins, managing client expectations and regularly interacting with our people. Apart from my day job, I ensure I make time to groom our upcoming talent too. I am passionate about upskilling and certification opportunities, especially seeing the impact it has on our people and their growth.

What’s the best thing about working at Capgemini?

First of all, it is the people, followed by our culture and the flexibility. There is no restriction on the hierarchy – the doors of our leadership are always open for us to directly approach and discuss. Even when it comes to career path, they remain invested in your growth and offer you complete freedom. I have held multiple roles in my career with Capgemini so far – from a developer to testing and project manager to now an engagement manager. How are you working towards the future you want?

One is by being proactive and looking for opportunities to scale in delivery. In my end-to-end customer-facing role, I leverage the support system we have – in the form of a close-knit global community, their experience and knowledge, cascaded through webinars and skill-booster sessions. I then pass that on with my involvement in certification and development. In any role or career, interaction and learning are the keys to growth.

What advice would you give to someone joining Capgemini?

It is a great organization to build your career because you will get a lot of opportunities. This place is great for learning, so make use of the learning platforms we have. The management helps you grow as a person and identifies areas for upskilling, which will aid your progress.
