Fort Hood in Killeen, Texas, sprawling across nearly 215,000 acres and home to 217,000 people, is one of the largest Army bases in the United States. Every six months they hold the Mega Career Fair, which attracts up to 5,000 active duty and retired soldiers, Veterans, and their dependents.

Demonstrating Capgemini’s commitment to their Veterans Employee Resource Group (VERG) and to the military and Veteran community at large, Capgemini’s Lydia Snyder, Janie Jones, and Paul Dailey participated in the bi-annual Mega Career Fair on January 15. The event hosted nearly 180 companies and an estimated 4,000 job seekers, including active duty Army personnel and Veterans. We met with a significant number of Veterans interested in a career in IT consulting and gathered over a dozen resumes of candidates whom we’ll follow up with. Notable among them was Lieutenant Colonel Roger Miranda. An MS in Industrial Engineering, he graduated from Merivis Foundation, a partner organization of VERG, and holds SalesForce and PMP certifications. LTC Miranda will transition from active duty in August 2019.

The VERG’s mission is to encourage and assist Veterans in pursuing and building careers in various fields at Capgemini while employing the skills, experience, talent and dedication they bring, as well as providing opportunities to the families of Veterans as a tribute to their service. If you’re a Veteran seeking a rewarding career in IT consulting or a member of the Armed Services planning to enter the civilian sector soon and have training and experience in IT, please contact us. Additionally, if you have access to a pipeline of IT certified Veteran talent looking for career positions, we we’d like to connect with you.
