Capgemini’s Diversity & Inclusion Circles: Shaping an Inclusive Future

On November 26, the CIS (Cloud Infrastructure Services) team hosted a significant event – Diversity & Inclusion Circles, at the Capgemini Diegem office. The insightful session, led by Lucie Kroemer and Vincent Laurens, focused on key topics like unconscious bias and diversity and inclusion. This event provided a unique opportunity for our colleagues to share their perspectives, engage in meaningful conversations, and contribute to creating a more inclusive and equitable workplace.

An evening of thoughtful reflections and insightful conversations

As the event kicked off at 5.30 pm, Capgemini’s Diegem office became a hub for open discussion as colleagues gathered to explore how diversity and inclusion can shape Capgemini’s future and contribute to fostering positive change in the workplace.

Lucie and Vincent introduced the main topic – unconscious bias, highlighting how implicit beliefs can unintentionally influence our actions and decisions in daily lives, ultimately impacting workplace dynamics. Besides raising awareness about these biases, they also emphasized the importance of recognizing and addressing them, while promoting an environment where everyone feels heard, valued, and included.

Shaping an inclusive future together

One of the key takeaways from the session was that – inclusion starts with each one of us. At Capgemini, inclusion and sustainability aren’t just priorities – they are at the heart of everything we do. The D&I Circle wasn’t just about learning – it was a call to action. Our colleagues shared ideas, varied perspectives, and experiences, discussing how Capgemini can position diversity and inclusion as core values in every aspect of its work.

Networking and building connections

After the circle discussions, the event transitioned into a lively networking session, where attendees continued the conversation over drinks and light bites. This informal setting offered a great chance to interact, exchange ideas, and build connections.

A step toward a more inclusive Capgemini

The event reaffirmed Capgemini’s commitment to fostering a workplace where diversity and inclusion are not just buzzwords, but core values that guide everyday actions. It also emphasized the importance of collective responsibility in driving these values forward. By embracing these principles, we are not only strengthening teams but building a more sustainable future for all.

Looking ahead

Reflecting on the significance of the event, Lucie Kroemer stated, “The Diversity & Inclusion Circles event was a powerful reminder that inclusion starts with each one of us. By recognizing and addressing unconscious biases, we can create a more supportive and inclusive environment for everyone. This event was not just about raising awareness but also about taking actionable steps towards positive change. I am grateful for the enthusiastic participation and the meaningful conversations that took place.”

As we look forward, we know that the path toward a more inclusive future doesn’t end here. The Diversity & Inclusion Circles are just the beginning. The insights and connections from the event will continue to shape Capgemini’s journey toward a truly inclusive workplace.

We express our heartfelt gratitude to Lucie Kroemer and Vincent Laurens for hosting this enriching event and also thank all attendees for their participation and thoughtful contributions. We also thank our CIS colleagues Mohamed Magrout and Dries Van Der Auwera for being a part of this event and sharing their insights. Let’s drive change and create a culture where every voice is heard and valued. Together, let’s continue building a positive and inclusive future at Capgemini!
