Introduction and messaging framework 

World Environment Day 2026 is framed by the UN around the urgency of climate action: not only reducing emissions but also rethinking the systems that power our economies and restoring our relationship with the climate.

This World Environment Day is our opportunity to show that Capgemini is a leading sustainable organization, already acting on this challenge – translating ambition to action through everyday decisions and collective effort that people across Capgemini can participate in. Our narrative focuses on how we move from urgency to action and mobilization, turning long term ambition into meaningful progress across our operations, value chain, and global ecosystem.

Internally, rather than mobilizing colleagues on everything at once, we will focus our activation on one priority, delivered in partnership with CRES through the Zero Hero campaign.

Our messaging focuses on sustainable futures for people, planet, and society, showing how we move from commitment to impact by advancing Net Zero, managing resources responsibly, and scaling progress through collective action.

Our focus for action is around 2 key areas:

Showcasing our progress and credibility on climate action, supported by key messages and a global social media carousel.

Key messages reflect our action pillars
 Carbon action: Cutting emissions across our operations and value chain in line with our Net Zero plan, including energy, travel, IT, fleet, and supply chain.
Responsible resource management: Protecting what we have, using less, and using better by conserving water, reducing waste, protecting biodiversity, and accelerating the transition to a circular economy.
Collective action: Scaling impact through collaboration with colleagues, clients, partners, and NGOs, to drive sustainability beyond our own footprint.

Mobilizing colleagues around one meaningful behavior change that makes climate action tangible through everyday choices.
Zero Hero is the employee activation engine for World Environment Day. Led by CRES, supported by CSR and employee groups, Zero Hero is:
– A global behavior‑change campaign supporting our Zero Waste ambition
– Mobilizing colleagues across locations to reduce everyday waste
– Enabling sustainability to move from strategy to on‑ground action
