Hello! I´m Verónica, Engagement Manager & Technical Leader, based in Aguascalientes, Mexico. I´ve been with Capgemini for more than 8 years. When I joined in 2017, I started working as Java Backend developer. When the pandemic arrived, I had to jump to Manufacturing account taking a Technical Leader position. To be honest, I was scared! Taking a technical role, working with high performance team members (more than 20 talents) that besides everything, they were men!

I had the opportunity to collaborate, to know the people and show them that they can also be guided by women, having as base: Listen, Communication, Teamwork and Empathy.

It has undoubtedly been a great experience in my life.

What advice would you give to someone joining Capgemini?

My advice is to build relationships, get along with team members, and work collaboratively. Don’t be afraid to express your opinions or concerns, as the Capgemini leadership team is very receptive to new ideas.

But most importantly, try to learn as much as possible. If you’re interested in something, follow the paths you have time for, because that’s really what will help you determine where you want to go, and you have the freedom to take your career the way you want.

How do you collaborate with colleagues from different teams and countries?

Without a doubt, it’s crucial to establish clear communication, use collaborative tools, foster empathy, active listening, trust, and be aware of cultural differences.

We must be willing to adjust our work style to adapt to different ways of doing things, recognize and give value to diversity.
