“When I came here after ten years at my previous organization, I was nervous, but already after a week, it felt like I had never worked anywhere else. It was easy to fit in.”

Before I joined Capgemini, I had 10 years of previous experience from one other company and had reached a point where I felt a need for change and to explore something new. I first heard of open positions in Capgemini from my husband, who knew Capgemini to be a company with a great reputation, so that is why I applied for a position here.

One reason that ultimately made me join was the network ‘Architect Connect’, where Capgemini brings their architects together. I was intrigued by the feeling of being part of a bigger community that learns and delivers together

Tell us about your role. What does a day in your life at Capgemini look like?

My role is that of an Integration Architect, so a day in my life basically consists of a lot of meetings – but fun meetings! And, of course, preparation in between them. They consist of topics such as problem analysis, gap analysis, and finding the integration that fits. Aside from that, I try to find small ways of connecting with my Capgemini colleagues even if I am at a client’s office.

How are you working towards the future you want?

The future is very hazy right now. Many things are changing fast, especially with technology. For example, we don’t know what GenAI will mean for us.

So, I work towards the future I want by staying prepared and making sure to take on any learning opportunity that comes my way. I ask for training, and I look for the people aspect of things because I think that is an important part. Capgemini has so many learning opportunities, so a lot of it is about being aware of what is happening to gain new experiences.

What characterizes the people and culture at Capgemini?

They are not scared of asking questions, and to me, that is a way of showing interest.

If you want to try something out, you always find a partner to team up with because everyone is looking for new opportunities. When the Guilds (internal knowledge hubs) started, for example, it was because someone thought it was a good idea to gather people with the same competence. It’s a flat organization – it’s easy to reach out to leaders and come up with a new idea.

What is the best thing about Capgemini?

I think it is my colleagues. When I came here after so many years at my previous organization, I was nervous, but already after a week, it felt like I had never worked anywhere else. It was easy to fit in.

Another thing is that Capgemini focuses on the importance of work-life balance in its true sense—not just as a way of putting nice words in a portal.
