“The flexibility in working hours, the chance to explore various opportunities, and the ability to shape my own career path were highly appealing—ultimately leading to my decision to join.”

I didn’t begin my career as a consultant but, as an Offering Specialist, I worked with consultants and found their approach exciting. Ten years into my career, I saw an opportunity at Capgemini and applied. The flexible work schedule, diverse experiences, and the ability to shape my own career attracted me. With my Telecom background, I quickly joined a major transformation project, giving me a strong start in consulting.

Tell us about your role. What does a day in your life at Capgemini look like?

I lead the Financial Services practice in the Nordics while also consulting for clients, helping them transform their business and IT in the financial sector. My days vary widely – starting with candidate interviews or responding to client RFPs, and later working on-site as a consultant. Every day is different. In my consulting role, I focus on strategic projects, primarily in banking and insurance transformations, helping clients achieve their goals. It’s an exciting and dynamic role.

As a team manager, how would you define your style of leadership?

My approach is more coaching than directive – I trust individuals to reach their goals. I believe in giving employees space and ensuring everyone has a voice through open dialogue and feedback, rather than micromanaging. While structure and rules are important, I also prioritize creating a fun and engaging work environment.

How do you notice Capgemini’s efforts to create an inclusive environment?

We’ve won several awards in this area, thanks to mutual respect among colleagues and a focus on solving tasks collaboratively. When different cultures meet, it’s about finding ways to work together across borders. Our recruitment approach and the use of inclusive digital tools enable global collaboration. Our teams are diverse in seniority, which fosters a supportive environment. Overall, people here are kind and accommodating, which creates a positive workplace.

What advice would you give to someone joining Capgemini?

My top advice is to network and step outside your comfort zone to pursue the future you want – it takes courage, which aligns with our value of Boldness. Our company is full of brilliant people, and there are many paths forward. It’s important to take action and find where you feel most aligned. When you’re in the right element, work becomes easier and more enjoyable.
