I’ve experienced tremendous trust from managers, both my own and those at a higher level. Whenever I come up with an idea or a suggestion, I always feel met with positivity and encouragement to try and explore it further.

My career at Capgemini began with a project position during my studies. At the time, I was pursuing Computer Science, but my background in project management and marketing made me a good fit for a part-time role available at Capgemini. It was an internal project with a focus on communication. Initially, I didn’t actively seek out Capgemini; it was simply a good job beside my studies. However, after six months had passed and I was offered an extension on the project position, I didn’t hesitate to stay. I met so many wonderful people, and my managers trusted me enough to give me the autonomy I needed to balance both studies and work! My four years of part-time work during university showed me the opportunities available within the company, and I felt I wanted to continue my journey here. So upon completing my studies, I applied for Capgemini’s Ignite Trainee Program.

Tell us about your role. What does a day in your life at Capgemini look like?

Today, I work as a Junior Business Analyst at Insights & Data, a role that suit me well. Despite the technical nature of my position, a significant aspect of my responsibilities revolves around client communication, understanding their challenges, and engaging them in finding solutions. Beyond client engagements, I am engaged in our art association which involves everything from organizing guided tours at exhibition halls, to purchasing art for our annual lottery. It’s really fun to drive this initiative with colleagues who have the same hobbies as yourself!

How does Capgemini support your development?

My experience as a trainee at Capgemini has been great. I feel very supported by my peers, mentor, and managers alike. They are genuinely invested in ensuring I feel comfortable in my role and future within the organization. I’m encouraged to learn new skills and challenge myself but i am also provided with support and guidance during that.

What characterizes the people and culture at Capgemini?

We have two (of many) core values which are “modesty” and “trust,” and it might sound somewhat cliché, but I think it fits just right in the workplace. Everyone is kind and willing to help others; I have never encountered sharp elbows or envy. Most people care, are curious, and driven without becoming ambitious at the expense of others.

As I mentioned, I’ve experienced tremendous trust from managers, both my own and those at a higher level. Whenever I come up with an idea or a suggestion, I always feel met with positivity and encouragement to try and explore it further.
