“I feel completely comfortable being myself here, knowing I’ll be respected and accepted for who I truly am.”

I have a background in HR and have worked with Talent Acquisition since during my studies. However, I’ve always been deeply interested in IT and technology. Even during my studies, I knew I wanted to pursue a career that would allow me to work closely with IT, which made Capgemini a natural choice. Since joining Capgemini, I’ve had the opportunity to grow and take on challenges at my own pace. The leadership culture here fosters an environment where my opinions are genuinely valued, making my journey both rewarding and fulfilling.

Tell us about your role. What does a day in your life at Capgemini look like?

I work as a Talent Acquisition Specialist and while my role involves recruitment, it’s not limited to it. I take a strategic approach to recruitment, focusing on long-term planning, building relationships, and collaborating with our employer branding team. My responsibilities include project management, stakeholder coordination, and coaching managers to ensure a high-quality recruitment process and a positive candidate experience. Additionally, I engage in initiatives to enhance diversity, inclusion, and the overall candidate journey, aligning recruitment with long-term organizational goals rather than immediate hiring needs.

This role also requires me to stay updated on IT to make informed decisions about candidates, even without formal IT training. Collaborating with diverse perspectives, both within and outside the organization, challenges me to adapt and grow, making my work both meaningful and dynamic.

How are you working towards the future you want?

I’ve learned the importance of GET in “Get The Future You Want” – taking ownership of my journey. For instance, I reached out to a senior architect to learn more about technology, and together we created a plan. I started learning backend coding to better understand the candidates I work with. I’ve also taken AI courses from our learning library and organized an AI training session for the Talent Acquisition team with our Applied Innovation Exchange team. Additionally, I became a certified workshop facilitator.
A key part of my journey is regularly engaging with people across the organization to ask questions and gain insights. We have a great culture where career development is openly discussed. It’s up to me to decide how I want to grow, and Capgemini has supported me with training, certification, and opportunities to explore new interests.

What characterizes the people and culture at Capgemini?

Capgemini is a large, stable company, yet we manage to stay incredibly entrepreneurial, agile, and quick to adapt despite our size. I feel completely comfortable being myself here, knowing I’ll be respected and accepted for who I truly am. There’s a deep sense of mutual respect within the organization, with a strong understanding that everyone is unique, and that’s not just accepted but celebrated.

I work with people from a wide variety of cultures, and this diversity creates a workplace that is both empathetic and respectful. We make an effort to truly understand each other, but we also have the courage to challenge one another in a thoughtful and empathetic way.

How do you notice Capgemini’s efforts to create an inclusive environment?

This is incredibly important to us, especially within the team I’m part of. We have set KPIs and measurable goals that we actively work towards. Gender balance is a key focus for us, and having measurable targets is what truly drives meaningful progress in this area. We walk the talk, so to speak.

Our culture is also very inclusive. The open environment encourages everyone to share their opinions, and I genuinely feel that diversity and inclusion are central to every meeting and discussion.

What advice would you give to someone joining Capgemini?

Be yourself – it’s natural to feel nervous when starting a new job and think you need to fit in but remember that Capgemini hired you for who you are. Be curious, ask questions, network, and socialize. Talk to others about how they got to where they are today and think about what you want to achieve. We have incredible development opportunities, and you will develop here, whether you actively seek it or not!
