“I had the opportunity to accelerate and develop my role very quickly at Capgemini.”

I always had a great interest for IT and innovation and how the future is getting more and more digitalized. I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science from Lunds University which included a lot of technical courses and programming, therefore I decided to focus more on the “soft” side of IT and took my Master´s Degree in Communication, Applied IT.

I started the trainee program, IgnITe, 2022 as a Business Analyst and have been working as a Product Owner, Scrum Master and with Project Management at client site since then.

What made you decide to apply to and join Capgemini?

I was highly engaged in the student life at Lunds University and hosted several student fairs. Capgemini was always there and talked about the graduate opportunities at their workplace and after my Bachelor’s Degree, two of my University friends joined the organization. They shared how great it was to kickstart their career with the trainee program IgnITe and combine courses with real work-life experience. After my Masters, I applied and got in.

What makes you passionate about your work?

The freedom to grow, explore and decide my own career path. I was not sure of what I wanted to do after my studies, however, Capgemini allowed me to try several different professions in various fields. Furthermore, all my warm and fun colleagues – it is thanks to them that I enjoy coming to the office every morning.

How does Capgemini support your development?

I had the opportunity to accelerate and develop my role very quickly at Capgemini. I started to work as a Scrum Master and was short thereafter given the opportunity to become a Product Owner/Project Manager for a whole new global web project together with a development team and UX designers. This role was challenging for me as a young professional; however, Capgemini gave me the right support and trust to make this possible.

What characterizes the people and culture at Capgemini?

Inclusive, multi-cultural, and ambitious people. As part of the IgnITe program, I started with several young graduates in the same situation as me, and we did the journey together. This made us very close, and some of my closest employees are still some of my closest employees today. The work culture at Capgemini is flexible, with a focus on work-life balance, which I highly value.

What advice would you give to someone joining Capgemini?

If you are like me and do not know what direction you want to take your career life (or if you know exactly), Capgemini is a great start to having the opportunity to explore different roles, decide your own pathway, and create the future that you want.
