ONS 2022: Capgemini’s Lounge Lightning Talks

Counting down to ONS 2022: Meet us in our lounge area in Hall 9 (Next to the Centre Court) to hear from our experts and impressive guest speakers!

Each day will have a different theme and each presentation will be held twice a day ranging from 10-15 minutes. We have partnered up with Cognite, Energy Valley and Hewlett Packard to give you a broader perspective on each topic and show how we work with the industry to solve their key challenges using data, design, innovation, emerging technologies and co-creation.


Day 1: August 29 – Energy Transition

10:00 and 14:00 – Creating offshore winners – a timeline for how Norway can become a global leader in offshore wind

Based on discussions with more than 30 key stakeholders in the Norwegian offshore wind ecosystem, Capgemini Invent and our partner Energy Valley has developed a concrete timeline for the decisions and actions needed to deliver on Norway’s ambition by 2040 and build a work-leading industry for offshore wind. Come to hear and discuss what’s needed to succeed, based on this fresh study published in August.

13:00 and 16:00- Sustainable innovation – The value of data sharing and digital collaboration

Learn how improving the value chain across the industry through innovation and design can reduce emissions equivalent of Germany´s carpark.

frog mapped and designed a system dynamic giga-map for the entire Norwegian offshore supply chain, based on qualitative and quantitative data. Through a strategic design approach, frog showed how real-time visibility increases predictability and optimization, supports strategic priorities and reduced cost.

Day 2: August 30 – Capgemini Engineering

11:00 and 15:00 – How to enable platform-based manufacturing IT transformation

Christer Waage,

Christer Waage discusses a challenge with today’s manufacturing IT landscapes not being designed to scale innovation and drive business transformation. Christer will also take a closer look at Capgemini’s Manufacturing Operations Platform as a systematic approach for manufacturers to transition IT towards an ecosystem that drives business differentiation.

Capgemini works with clients to design, build and run the next generation of data- and analytics platforms, including cost efficient use of AI. Using data to gain insights into all aspects of the business, paves the way for data-driven insights into which steps are most needed and gives the most effect on the path to sustainability.

A walk-through customer-led solutions where Industrial DataOps enables quantifiable sustainability goals that result in P&L improvement. Alexandre drives several initiatives related to sustainability and helping customers and partners to develop their own solutions leveraging Cognite’s Industrial Data Platform, Cognite Data Fusion.

11:00 and 14:00 – How can AI & Data Insight can create new possibilities for Energy & Sustainability

Dr. Eng Lim Goh,
VP and CTO for artificial intelligence at Hewlett Packard Enterprise. Awarded NASA’s Exceptional Technology Achievement Medal.
One of the founding fathers of AI (Dr Goh) will share his view on how Technology, AI & Data Insight can create new possibilities for the Energy industry and its challenging transition. This is making the need for more efficient IT & Energy Technology more critical than ever. At the same time, the acceleration of Digital Transformation to reduce cost and increase efficiencies is essential in enabling companies to achieve their sustainability and carbon footprint reduction goals.

15:00 – Technological trends in data driven sustainability

Capgemini is involved with many of the global and local E&Ps, helping them design, implement and run next generation data platforms. Based on best practices, upcoming trends and pragmatic down to earth thinking, Øystein will attempt to explain the most important things to think of when designing, implementing and running a data platform for AI and analytics.
