I joined Capgemini DCX as a Managing Consultant in 2024. With over a decade of experience in IT management positions primarily within the energy sector, I launched my career as a software developer, spending most of my time working with SAP for the oil and gas industry.   

What made you decide to apply to and join Capgemini?

I had heard so many great things about the culture at Capgemini over the years, about how you get the best of both worlds: a strong local presence with the support of a global network. What really stood out to me was the opportunity to shape your own career path. I got in touch with a previous colleague that joined a few months before to hear her experience, and she confirmed everything.  I was invited to talk to her and the regional director in Stavanger to get to know each other better and find the right fit. Now, I am really happy to be part of the team.

Tell us about your role. What does a day in your life at Capgemini look like?

I am currently engaged as a consultant on a project for a leading energy company. In this role, I am responsible for overseeing our deliveries within this entity, ensuring alignment with the client’s strategic objectives and expectations.  As well as catering for further growth within this account.

How does Capgemini support your development?

I have a very good dialogue with my manager. He supports me and challenges me, as well as helping and inspiring me to set up and execute on my development plan. In addition, I am talking to relevant people in the organization to learn and get mentoring. Working together with all the great people is what gives me the most in terms of knowledge and development.

How do you notice Capgemini’s efforts to create an inclusive environment?

You feel it in the air as soon as you enter the office building. There is something about the atmosphere and the way people behave. It’s rooted in our values and something we emphasize from day one in the onboarding process.  We’re a multicultural company that truly values diversity. We walk the talk.

You see it in the small things, like how we gather for fika — not just for coffee, but to celebrate milestones or just to connect. We often have themed gatherings that reflect different cultures or seasons, creating natural meeting points where everyone talks to everyone. The turnout is always strong, and people make time for it — because it matters.

Most of all I feel that all the people I have met have been very inclusive. People genuinely care for each other and look after each other.
