After over four years at Capgemini, I transitioned to frontend development following two summers of full-stack development internships. Which has given me a comprehensive understanding of both frontend and backend technologies. 

During my time here, I have led projects that aim for great technical quality and community engagement. I’ve led initiatives driving technical excellence and community engagement, demonstrating proactive leadership in social and technical realms. This approach fosters collaboration and innovation, consistently pushing boundaries. 

What made you decide to join Capgemini?    

I decided to join Capgemini due to its stellar reputation in the IT and consulting industry, both globally and here in Norway. The company’s commitment to innovation, continuous learning, and professional development was really appealing. During my internships, I experienced the collaborative and inclusive culture at Capgemini. The diverse range of projects and the opportunity to work with cutting-edge technologies assured me that Capgemini was the perfect place to grow my career as a software front-end developer. 

Can you describe a recent project that challenged you and how you overcame those challenges?  

A recent project that stands out involved redesigning and enhancing key components of our client’s booking site processes, ensuring seamless overall functionality. This project necessitated the integration of multiple data sources while maintaining high performance and user-friendly design. A major challenge was managing a wide range of edge cases for users with benefits, ensuring the system provided useful tips without creating loopholes or compromising speed and reliability. To address these complexities, we engaged in multiple rounds of discussions with domain experts and tech leads to clarify requirements and implement efficient cross-checking mechanisms. This collaborative approach ensured all stakeholders were satisfied. Working closely with the backend team and UX designers, and adhering to agile methodologies, allowed us to resolve issues and optimize the system effectively. 

How are you working towards the future you want?  

To achieve the future I want, I am committed to continuous learning and professional development. I regularly participate in training sessions, workshops, and conferences to stay updated with the latest trends and technologies in frontend development. I also seek mentorship within Capgemini, leveraging the knowledge and experience of senior colleagues. Additionally, I set personal development goals and work on side projects to enhance my skills. My proactive approach to learning and development ensures that I am well-prepared for future challenges and opportunities.
