“Ignite has opened up huge opportunities for learning and growth through real projects.”

I joined Capgemini in February 2024 after completing a bachelor’s degree in computer science at NTNU. As part of the Ignite graduate program in the Cloud and Custom Applications department, I have been working on a project in the public sector since I started. In my role as a backend developer, I focus on creating reliable and efficient systems, using my technical skills to solve practical challenges.

What made you decide to apply to and join Capgemini?

I decided to join Capgemini because of its strong presence in Norway and globally, which I imagined would offer me opportunities to work with exciting projects, talented people, and different clients. I was also enthusiastic about contributing to Capgemini’s growth in Trondheim, working to build a better environment both professionally and among colleagues.

What impact has the Ignite program had on you and your career?

Ignite has opened up huge opportunities for learning and growth through real projects. It has allowed me to work closely with a team and grow both professionally and personally. The program also connected me with others at my experience level, which makes the learning process feel safer and more collaborative.

Tell us about your role. What does a day in your life at Capgemini look like?

In my role at Capgemini, no two days are exactly the same, which keeps my work both interesting and challenging. I mostly work with local colleagues, but we often team up with others from across Norway or other companies for our projects. Our tasks range from meetings with the client to deploying complex technical solutions.

How does Capgemini support your development?

Capgemini supports my growth through their Ignite program, where I’ve learned the latest in consulting and tech. Since I started here, I’ve gotten the chance to dive into a whole new industry, which has been a fun challenge. I’ve also had the opportunity to work alongside some incredibly talented people from different backgrounds. Also, my leaders are always there to guide me and help line up opportunities that fit with where I want to go with my career.

What characterizes the people and culture at Capgemini?

People at Capgemini are open, inclusive, skilled, and always eager to help. This creates a strong sense of team spirit, where we support each other, value each other’s perspectives, and celebrate our achievements together.
