“Capgemini is full of opportunities, but you need to be proactive and share your goals so that others can support you.”

I joined Capgemini in August 2021 after completing a master’s degree in mathematics with Teacher Education from NTNU. Starting in the graduate program Ignite, I have since worked as a full-stack developer, gaining valuable experience across multiple roles, including developer, tech lead, and team lead. These opportunities have allowed me to tackle diverse challenges and grow both technically and professionally.

What made you decide to apply to and join Capgemini?

I wanted to be a consultant so that I could work on different projects and with various clients without having to change jobs. Capgemini’s reputation for having a great work culture also drew me in— where people are eager to share knowledge, and the company invests in development through excellent courses and training programs.

What makes you passionate about your work?

I love the feeling of solving a difficult task after putting in the hard work. Collaborating with my team to find good solutions and seeing our code work is incredibly satisfying. It’s rewarding to witness the client’s happiness when our solutions meet or exceed their expectations.

How does Capgemini support your development?

Through programs like Ignite and Accelerate, which are designed to fuel growth. I started my career by attending Ignite and I am now attending Accelerate, where I’ve loved the opportunity to attend courses and learn about new technology. Additionally, my leaders provide consistent support, offering guidance and creating opportunities that align with my career goals.

How do you notice Capgemini’s efforts to create an inclusive environment?

I experience inclusivity through the way colleagues are always willing to share knowledge and support each other, even when they’re not part of my project or directly involved in the task. This willingness to help extends beyond formal collaboration. It’s also reflected in everyday gestures, like everyone sitting together at lunch instead of forming exclusive groups. Initiatives like Women@Capgemini further foster inclusivity by hosting events that focus on representation and creating a welcoming environment.

What advice would you give to someone joining Capgemini?

Take the initiative to get involved. Attend events and let your managers and colleagues know about your interests and aspirations. Capgemini is full of opportunities, but you need to be proactive and share your goals so that others can support you.
