“That’s what I like about Capgemini; If you show interest and ambition in any area, there will be support from everyone.”

I became part of Capgemini when I joined the IgnITe Graduate Program in 2016 in Gothenburg. I hadn’t initially planned on moving to Gothenburg, but when the opportunity presented itself, I took it. It was a friend from university who suggested Capgemini as a workplace. At that time, I was on my last year of my Master’s in Science in Business and Economics. It is kind of unusual, even to this day I believe, for someone studying economics to explore job opportunities in the IT-field. However, I had an interest in IT and realized that at Capgemini I could combine my education in economics with my interest in IT to gain and expand my knowledge.

When the pandemic started, I decided to move closer to family in Karlskrona, and with that change, I also decided to change workplace. However, after 1,5 year I returned to Capgemini because, in all honesty, I missed the culture of Capgemini and there was the possibility of a role of Team Manager which was a role I really wanted to pursue.

How does Capgemini support your development?

There are numerous ways I’ve developed and as I mentioned earlier, Capgemini offers several opportunities for growth, if you want to develop. That’s what I like about Capgemini; If you show interest and ambition in any area, there will be support from everyone. Clearly stating your goals is very important.

What do you do to help inspire your consultants?

I strive to be the kind of person that I myself would like to meet here. I will offer support when it’s needed and requested; I try to constantly reassure that they need to have an open dialog with me about their needs and to be clear about what they want. I work towards having a transparent relation with my team.

How do you notice Capgemini’s efforts to create an inclusive environment?

I would say that you can clearly see how active Capgemini is in that regard, not only during events such as Pride week. But also, in everyday moments like in the lunchroom, during coffee breaks, even during seminars. We have a lot of people who actively contribute to these events and help further with creating an inclusive environment.

What is the best thing about Capgemini?

The best thing about Capgemini is that there is an entrepreneurial feeling despite being a global company. I feel like we get the control and opportunity to create our own career paths if we truly desire. It might not be what one typically imagines of a big company, but it really gives that feeling, and that’s what I like about Capgemini.
