Industry, meet intelligence

Date: 6th of May
Location: MAAT – Fundação EDP, Lisbon
Sector: Industry

The industry is changing – but are you ready for what’s coming?

Disruptive technologies are emerging at an unprecedented pace. Some will redefine industries, others will fade into the background. But which ones will truly drive transformation, and which are just noise? What impact will they have on businesses, society, and the way we work? What forces are driving this shift, and how can you stay ahead?

At Capgemini Engineering, we stand at the forefront of innovation, helping companies navigate complexity and turn technological breakthroughs into real-world impact. For us, Intelligent Industry is characterized by a growing convergence of product, software, data, and services across all industries. Our deep Knowledge enables us to bring together the best minds to decode the future, with a strong expertise in IoT, Industry 4.0, and AI within the industrial sector.

Characterized by a growing convergence of product, software, data, and services across all industries. At Capgemini we call this Intelligent Industry.

To foster meaningful discussions and spark new ideas, we hosted our first Intelligent Industry event in Portugal – an exclusive opportunity to exchange insights, share business use cases, challenge perspectives, and explore the disruptive forces shaping the future of our industries. This exclusive half-day event wasn’t just another industry talk – it was a strategic discussion that brought together thought leaders and decision makers to explore what’s next.

The industry is changing—but how deep will the transformation go?
Let’s find out together!

The future is now, and that’s why we shared real use cases.

At this event, we explored specific use cases developed in collaboration with our key technology partners – AWS, Google, Microsoft, Schneider, and Siemens – that demonstrate how Industrial 4.0 technologies are transforming operations. Through practical examples and actionable insights, you will experience first-hand the impact of innovation on industry.

Manufacturing Engineering Automation

Using the DCC platform – combining Nvidia Omniverse, Capgemini’s Connect layer, and process expertise – we showed how OEMs and suppliers can collaborate in real time to optimize planning. We also demonstrated how AI-powered Digital Twins bridge operational and capital efficiency.

5G in a box

This demo features a 5G network using a computer and URSP with an antenna. It transmits real-time video between two phones and displays live network data and quality metrics. The setup also connects to an autonomous car and a smart traffic light that detects an approaching train and changes signals, showcasing 5G’s low-latency and reliability.

Unity

A collection of immersive, real-time 3D simulations for industry and training – featuring factory automation, robotics, mining, AI training, retail, wind farms, and airship navigation highlighting advanced tech visualization.

This demo showcases a miniature autonomous vehicle using 5G and V2X to interact with infrastructure. It maps, navigates, and processes real-time data from cameras, lidar, and V2X signals—detecting, classifying objects, and adapting to its environment.

OASEES

The OASEES project (Open Autonomous Programmable Cloud Apps & Smart Edge Sensors) demonstrates how federated learning can improve anomaly detection efficiency in wind farms, offering significant advantages over traditional centralized models.

Remote Assistant

A real-time support tool for field technicians, enabling live collaboration with remote experts through a shared app. Experts can communicate, guide visually, and annotate the technician’s live view—like marking a specific screw to adjust—without being on-site.
