Guest Speakers

Paulo Dimas, CEO of Center for Responsible AI

With a career marked by technological entrepreneurship, Paulo Dimas served as Vice President of Innovation at Unbabel, a global-leading AI startup in machine translation combined with human input.

He joined the team in the company’s early stages, where he led the development of new and innovative AI-based products. With a strong connection to research from an early age (having joined INESC at just 16) and extensive experience in creating innovative products, Paulo Dimas is a natural facilitator of collaboration between startups, research centers, and industry.

A frequent speaker at conferences, he is also a recognized voice in discussions on the challenges and opportunities of artificial intelligence, contributing to its ethical and responsible use.

António Gameiro Marques, Rear Admiral – Information Security Specialist

António Gameiro Marques holds a degree in Naval Military Sciences and specializes in Communications. He also attended a master’s program in Electrical and Computer Engineering at the Naval Postgraduate School in the United States. Throughout his career, he has participated in strategic projects of the Portuguese Navy, including the Vasco da Gama-class Frigates program, and served as Portugal’s Military Advisor to NATO.

He was promoted to Rear Admiral in 2008 and held several high-responsibility positions, including the Navy’s first Chief Information Officer (CIO), Deputy Secretary-General of the Ministry of Defense, and Director-General of the National Security Authority. With executive education in management and governance, he has been recognized as Best Digital Leader by IDC Portugal and received the Career Award from Revista Segurança.

He is currently a Principal Teaching Fellow at AESE Business School, where he teaches leadership, digital maturity, and cybersecurity.
