Black & Veatch streamlines
operations with robotic

process automation

Exploring automation means high-value employees can focus on more productive work

Headquartered in Overland Park, Kansas, Black & Veatch is an employee-owned engineering, procurement, consulting, and construction company with a 100-year legacy of creating a better world for today and for generations to come.

Black & Veatch wanted to explore new ways to lower operational costs. Robotic process automation (RPA) was recommended to create efficiencies. From the back office to the front office, rolling our RPA projects means Black & Veatch’s knowledge workers can focus on their work and not repetitive tasks.

Black & Veatch adopted the UiPath Enterprise RPA Platform and chose to work with longstanding partner Capgemini. The Capgemini team brought its Eliminate, Standardize, Optimize, Automate, Robotize (ESOAR) framework to help focus the potential pilots and select the right projects for RPA. Applying ESOAR allowed the team to identify opportunities and apply a standard review for each one.

“Our CIO is very eager to explore RPA possibilities, and she has challenged us to go from six projects to 60 this year,” explains Devendra Kumar, Director, Enterprise Technologies Implementation, Black & Veatch. “That is a 10-fold increase, but our business leaders are seeing the potential that RPA brings to the business and they are excited.”

Contact us today to discuss how Capgemini’s ESOAR framework can help you leverage new technologies like robotic process automation to grow your business.
