Making an impact through Capgemini Cares Day

Capgemini employees across the United States and Canada come together every year for a day of service, better known as Capgemini Cares Day.

Every Capgemini community plans a volunteer event with one of our partner charities. It is an opportunity to spend time together outside of the office and the context of our everyday work. This has made Cares Day a perennial favorite amongst many of our colleagues.

On September 13, 2019, we celebrated our seventh-annual Capgemini Cares Day by hosting 65 volunteer events in 44 cities. More than 1,200 Capgemini employees from coast to coast in the US and Canada spent a combined 4,800 hours on these projects, time worth over $450,000. These events benefitted 14 charitable organizations. Our volunteer’s performed work including sorting donations at food banks, removing waste and invasive species from parks and green spaces, building homes for low-income families, and working with children and young adults from schools in underserved communities to share digital skills and empower them to pursue careers in STEM fields.

We are happy to say this was one of our most successful Cares Days to date, and we are excited to continue to work with our employees and community partners outside of Cares Day to address some of the most pressing issues our fellow citizens face. A huge thank you to all our volunteers who dedicated their valuable time to give back, and we thank you for supporting our goal to be Architects of Positive Futures. We’re already looking forward to doing even greater good in 2020.
