What’s next for data, blockchain and quantum computing?

How far can we push the computational power of current systems — and where do data and AI sit in the equation?

Join Capgemini’s Prof. Moez Draief and Kary Bheemaiah, along with Julian van Velzen of Capgemini’s Quantum Lab, as they discuss three areas of game-changing technology: AI & machine learning, blockchain & the metaverse, and quantum computing.

They consider the trends in hardware, software, data collection, and architecture. And they ask what impact quantum computing will have on modern cryptography in the coming years. With seismic technological shifts on the horizon, will blockchain technologies increase or reduce the carbon footprint of energy-hungry technology estates? And how will new and emerging technologies interoperate in the decade to come?

From quantum algorithms and software 2.0 to on-storage compute and the distance data needs to travel from where it’s stored to where it’s computed, this wide-ranging podcast sets a trajectory for the years to come in the revolution of technology.

Tune in to our podcast as we look back at where computing has come from and debate where it’s going.

About the speakers

Prof. Moez DraiefProf. Moez Draief Prof. Moez Draief is Vice President of Data Science and Engineering at Capgemini, where he also leads scientific activities in machine learning. He delivers value and insights from data to organisations in government, financial services, retail, industry, and telecoms using advanced machine learning techniques. Moez is also currently a Visiting Professor in the Department of Statistics at the London School of Economics.
Kary BheemaiahKary Bheemaiah Kary is Capgemini Invent’s Chief Technology and Innovation Officer. He helps to define the business and sectorial implications of emerging technologies that are of strategic importance to the Capgemini Group and its clients. Kary informs go-to-market implementation plans, aids in the creation of new client-specific solutions and services and contributes to thought leadership on innovative technologies. He further connects the world of emerging technology to all Capgemini Invent practices, clients, and sectors.
Julian van VelzenJulian van Velzen Julian is CTIO & Head of Capgemini’s Quantum Lab. He is passionate about the possibilities of quantum technologies and has helped establish Quantum Lab as a global network of quantum experts, partners, and facilities, focused on three key areas: Sensing, Communication and Computing. With a background in physics and experience in digital transformation, Julian explores how to apply research and build demos to help solve business and societal problems that up until now have been seemingly intractable. He describes this as ‘Making the impossible possible!’
