Challenges and how we have helped organisations meet them

Helping organisations to improve business efficiency with our S4 solutions

Case study: UK based subsidiary adopting S4

Challenge

A UK based subsidiary of a global organisation contacted us.   Group IT had decided on an S4 strategy, and the UK team realised it needed outside expertise to help bring the business leadership on board.

What we did

Through a series of workshops and analysis, we explained the benefits that a standard S4 would bring to the business.  Such was the enthusiasm that the business invested in a 2-day off-site workshop for over 70 leaders to co-create the roadmap and business case.  Launching the project was not an easy decision not only because of the devolved organisation, but also because of COVID. Patiently we worked together to launch the programme.

Case study: Streamlining supply chain for an engineering organisation

Challenge

The supply chain leadership of a UK complex engineering organisation were looking to streamline their business processes.  They believed the processes which ran on S4 (converted from legacy ECC) should be more effective but the question was – how to unlock this.

What we did

We were engaged to run our 5-stage process with the business to identify the changes and to plan a roadmap.  Easy to do on paper, harder to convince people and get sufficient traction to get going.   But a few months later, the solutions are being designed, and the business is impatiently keen to see the results.  We’re off.

Case study: Transforming finance systems for a global organisation

Challenge

A global and diverse organised comprising insurance, loyalty and travel divisions wanted guidance on their finance systems landscape.  The desired outcomes: to resolve the question of single or multi-instance, understand integrity of the financial data flows and the impact on business efficiency and quality of reporting, and align on a practical set of solutions to resolve pain points and deliver value quickly.

What we did

We ran our 5-stage process across all business divisions to understand their challenges, map the quality of data flows and engaged the business with design thinking sessions to collectively shape potential solution options to address the pain points.  The move to single instance was accepted by the business and practical steps are in place to move the business to a harmonised finance system.  In the short term, quick wins have been identified, with finance and IT brought together to shape the backlog and, crucially, get started.
