As well as our extensive range of tailored benefits, we also pride ourselves on the policies which support the families of our employees at Capgemini. We feel it’s crucial that all our employment policies are designed with our people in mind, so we work in collaboration with our employees whenever we are designing or revising our people policies. Those who have experienced maternity and adoption whilst working for Capgemini are integral in shaping our maternity and adoption policies; and our work life harmony policy reflects the conversations we have with our employees about striking a vital balance between work and home priorities.
Here, we provide a summary of some of our key policies:
Our maternity policy has been built with our population of mothers at its centre, and we are committed to offering as much support as possible to ensure that maternity at work, and beyond, is as exciting a time as it should be for our expectant mothers and their families.
You can take up to a year off on maternity leave, at varying levels of pay, depending on how long you’ve been with us. If you’ve been with us for 12 months by the time you’re 11 weeks from your due date, you’ll be entitled to enhanced maternity pay of up to 100% of your earnings for the first 18 weeks of your maternity leave. After this point you’ll receive your benefits fund, and your statutory maternity pay, until week 40 of your maternity leave. You’ll continue to receive all of your benefits throughout your maternity leave, and you’ll continue to accrue holiday throughout your time off.
We know that the financial side of things isn’t all that matters; when it comes to maternity at work: it’s the experience that is important. With this in mind we support our managers in understanding the critical role they play; we agree with you how you would like to be contacted (or not) whilst on maternity leave; and we actively encourage the use of “keep in touch” days, to ensure that you continue to feel connected with the business and to facilitate your successful return to work. You’ll also be invited to join our online community of other parents whilst you are on leave.
Our adoption policy is built with adoptive parents and their families at its heart. We’re committed to offering as much support as possible during this exciting time, to ensure that our adoptive parents can focus completely on their families.
You can take up to a year off on adoption leave, at varying levels of pay, depending on how long you’ve been with us. If you’ve been with us for at least 12 months by the date you are matched with your adoptive child, you’ll be entitled to enhanced adoption pay of up to 100% of your earnings for the first 18 weeks of your adoption leave. After this point you’ll receive your benefits fund, and your statutory adoption pay, until week 40 of your adoption leave. You’ll continue to receive all of your benefits throughout your adoption leave, and you’ll continue to accrue holiday throughout your time off.
We know that the financial side of things isn’t all that matters when it comes to adoption leave, so we also offer a keep in touch programme tailored to what you feel happiest with whilst you’re away. You’ll also be invited to join our online community of other parents on maternity and adoption leave whilst you’re off work.
Work/ Life Harmony
Capgemini recognises the pressures placed on personal and family life created by the increasing demands of the modern working environment. These demands centre on time spent both commuting and at work, so fostering a sustainable, flexible and healthy way in which employees are expected to work is very important to us as a company. We also appreciates that the UK workforce is becoming increasingly socially diverse and includes a high percentage of parents and individuals with other caring responsibilities, as well as those whose personal interests and aspirations impact on their available time.
The purpose of Work Life Harmony policy is to ensure that you can have an amazing and fulfilling career with us throughout your time here. There are a lot of options to choose from and we want to ensure that you can find the right solution for you, either through formal or informal arrangements with your team and manager.
